Harrison Young is a Theatre graduate from the University of Tennessee. Trained in Knoxville and New York City, he’s performed for a lot of comedies and new works which taught him how to write his own comedies.
Santa Monica Theatre’s Short Play Night premiered his one-act script ASKING FOR A FRIEND. His other produced writing includes ONLINE FIGHTING (Game Play Festival at the Brick Theater, Peoples Improv Theater, New Play Festival at the Tennessee Stage Company, Gibbs High School, Wild Thyme Players, Pandora’s Dream Productions); A COCAINE COMEDY (Peoples Improv Theater, New Play Festival at the Tennessee Stage Company); MAKING IT UP (Treehouse Theater, Peoples Improv Theater); SECRET DISCLOSURES (series at the Treehouse Theater); GRANDMA’S DEATH DISH (Tiger Lily Theatre, Chance Residential Center); NO PROPS (Tiger Lily Theatre); and THE INCONSEQUENTIAL CUPCAKE! (Bad Theater Fest at St. Paul’s Theater).
His performing credits include new plays like the world premieres of THE HUNGRY HEART (Carpetbag Theatre) and HOPPY’S TRUNK (New Play Festival at the Tennessee Stage Company). He also created new shows weekly with the Treehouse Theater’s improv house-team VICE CREAM. He currently lives in Cookeville, TN, where he leads theatrical fundraisers and workshops for local youth groups.
