On Saturday February 11th and Sunday February 12th The Santa Monica Theatre held general auditions for its 2017 season.

Actress, Director, and company member Stepy Kamei organized the auditions for owner and Creative Director Chad Neace.  Actors and stand up comedians came prepared with their very best comedic and dramatic monologues, scenes, and routines for Chad and the other company members  to review. The level of talent was impressive!

For 2017, the theatre is expanding and presenting a wide variety of productions. Included are a series of Shakesperean table reads featuring “A Winter’s Tale”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Much Ado About Nothing” and seven more. There will be Short Play Nights with original works, as well as Stand up and Improv comedy nights.

Actors who were unable to attend the general auditions are still eligible to appear in a production at SMT by auditioning for specific roles.  Also, the theatre accepts play submissions for possible production as part of the monthly Short Play Nights.

The 2017 season promises to be a one of a kind experience for everyone! Located near the world famous Santa Monica Pier, SMT is one of the best theatre going experiences in all of Southern California.  Visit our website often for updates on future productions.
