“One of the best pieces of comedy I have witnessed in years and overwhelms anything I have seen lately on Saturday Night Live or Comedy Central.” – San Francisco Metropolitan
CHRISTOPHER MEEHAN, an actor, writer and San Francisco native, is the youngest of 8 children. Chris learned at a young age if he was going to make it in anything, he would have to maneuver quickly through a hectic environment.
The Mayhem in the Meehan home made for a divine match to growing up in San Francisco’s thriving comedy scene. Chris, along with his brothers, Mike and Howard, worked as a co-writer and performer in their hit comedy group The Meehan Brothers. The Meehan Brothers went on to the semi-finals of
NBC’s Last Comic Standing and performed as one of the original groups in San Francisco’s SKETCH FEST, an industry must-see. The Meehan Brother’s went on to do several tours throughout North America performing their original shows “Meehan, Myself & I” and “Momma’s Boyz”
Appearing in over 90 commercials Meehan is no stranger to film and TV. Chris has worked with several Emmy and Academy Award winning producers, actors and directors including; Bryan Gordon in TV land’s “I’m not dead yet”, Emmy Award Winner Marlee Matlin in “Super Deafy: No Ordinary Hero”, Joe Pavlo in “Inside Mamet’s Computer”.
In addition to Meehan’s high octane-physical comedy, Chris is an established dramatic actor. Chris trained in New York at Sanford’s Meisner’s Neighborhood Playhouse and Stetsons Studio. He has performed in several off-Broadway shows, some of his favorites include; Jim Geoghan’s “Only Kidding”, at Primary Stages Theater, “Iron Tommy” developed at Ensemble Studio Theater in NYC with mentor and friend Ron Stetson.
Being from a family of teachers, builders, and storytellers, Chris has put his skills to use as a mentor and teacher to actors and businesses. He teaches an on-camera seminar “C4 -Ignite Your Dream” which focuses on Commercials, Co-stars, Community, and Career. However, Chris is most proud of his work at Eagle Rock School in Colorado, supervising service learning projects with “At risk” teenagers which included restoration of a 120 year old log cabin, outdoor amphitheater, ropes course, trail work, erosion control, municipal pier for the handicapped, and playgrounds. He has painted and done finish work on 100’s of structures- Victorians, Churches, Warehouses- you name it. He has been on a ladder at just about every height and precarious position.
Chris is best known for his performance as a good son, fooling most except his Mother, who repeatedly refers to him as ”The Devil’s Work”. His mom is the best audience and cooks a mean meatloaf.
Chris is also involved with several Volunteer organizations, one of which is BOMO and Holy Cross Parish in Dandora, Africa. Be of Service with Joy. Chris hosts an annual satirical festival to support BOMO,
“The Christopher Meehan International Festival of Films”. Last year the show raised over $15,000.
