Cathy “CAT” Deobler has been acting and directing on many stages throughout Los Angeles and Ventura County. She is proud to have worked at the Moorpark Melodrama, Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, Granada Theatre, West Valley Playhouse, The Underground, Tres Stage, Crown City Playhouse, and currently, at the Santa Monica Theatre. Cat is a company member of Santa Monica Theatre, and has spent most of the past year acting and directing there. She is the director of the theatre’s Children’s Playhouse, where she has led a talented group of actors in their first production The Pirate and the Princess. Look for more children’s shows to come! Cat has been involved in Santa Monica Theatre’s Short Play nights, Improv Comedy, and most recently, Shakespeare on the Street, where she has performed in Much Ado About Nothing, and Romeo and Juliet. Cat has been having the time of her life helping this new theatre get off the ground. She has also managed 3 theatre companies: The Actors’ Garden, Cre8tive Differences, and Dare to Dream Theatre. Some of her favorite roles include Golde – Fiddler on the Roof, Grandma Georgina – Willy Wonka,Eulalie – TheMusic Man, Nurse – Romeo and Juliet, The Sea Witch – The Little Mermaid, and Kanga – Winnie the Pooh.On screen, you may have seen her in The Drew Carey Show, Total Blackout, MTV’s Room 401, and as a winner on Wheel of Fortune.Away from the stage, Cat works as a teacher of the Deaf for Los Angeles Unified School District, and is the proud mother of not one, but two American soldiers.
